Princess Peach Deserves A Second Showtime For The Nintendo Switch 2

As hopeful as I am for Mario Kart 9 consisting of other great qualities aside from the ambitiousness of twenty-four racers competing on the new tracks [18], such as a retro mode for the old-school racers, certain karts and gliders from Mario Kart Tour and a roster of unlockable racers that could include Honey Queen, R.O.B. and Princess Zelda [42] [68] [69], I would be hopeful for my favourite character from the Super Mario franchise to keep blossoming from the damsel-in-distress role she has been primarily known for since Super Mario Bros. in a well-deserved follow-up to her great mission to save Sparkle Theatre [33] [34]. I still stand by how there ought to be an engaging multiplayer mode in a sequel to Princess Peach: Showtime! [74] [75], which is what I also believe ought to apply to a sequel to Sonic Frontiers [76] [77]. The multiplayer mode can provide both a co-op mode and a duel against another princess. There is still no explanation for Pink Gold Peach’s existence, but I would not be surprised if she will return as a racer in Mario Kart 9 [30] [31] [42]. [55]

As for the lovely Miss Daisy, I would be delighted if her role as Player Two in a new multiplayer mode could expand on her credibility, much like how her playability in Super Mario Bros. Wonder did [35]. [56]

 
What would the story of a follow-up be without some supporting characters and some antagonists? As adorable and noble as Stella is as a sidekick for a princess [33], I would be thrilled if Perry, the talking parasol from Super Princess Peach would return as more than a prop [38] [58]. As unimaginative as this sounds, a new antagonist could be Madame Grape’s elder sister leading her own Sour Bunch [33]. What do you mean by “That would be too similar to Elder Princess Shroob from Mario & Luigi: Partners In Time!” [53]? On the other joy-con, Bowser and his son could take over a new setting alongside the Koopalings whose boss battles were scrapped during the development of Super Princess Peach [59] [72] [73], resulting in all eight kids being new bosses to beat before the finale battle against Bowser [32] [35]. As for the setting, perhaps it can be a huge library that consists of an outstanding variety of storybooks, including a superhero graphic novel and a sci-fi novella that Peach will have to dive into to restore as the library to corrupted by some magic Bowser learns instead of Sparkle Theatre being taken over again [2]. That way, the sequel’s plot can be given slack for not recycling the previous one [33]. A new setting and familiar but notably different conflict would help a sequel maintain some creativity, as well as individuality when it comes to being faithful and fresh.

Making the Koopalings the bosses in a sequel to Princess Peach: Showtime! would make up for how they were originally going to return in Super Princess Peach but all got ditched and pushed aside until their grand return in New Super Mario Bros. Wii [32] [59]. [59]

And yes, let us look forward to the Nintendo Switch 2 showcase in Nintendo Direct this April [39].
