Animal Crossing Fans’ Fingers Crossed After The Reveal of The Nintendo Switch 2

The Nintendo Switch 2 showcase premiered the day after the release of the LEGO set based on the iconic castle from the animated Walt Disney classic released in 1991 known as “Beauty and the Beast” [7]. One of my most anticipated ideas for how the Switch 2 era can excel is the next Animal Crossing title that is currently labelled as “Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2” in my mind [78] [79], aside from the possibility of a Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Animal Crossing: New Horizons [30] [49] [78] [79] [84] [85]. Can you imagine being able to expand your island to make a lot more room for more villagers, build a Main Street, a bigger campsite and so on, along with the opportunity to experience the seasons in both the Northern and Southern Hemisphere [76] [77] [78] [79] [84] [85]]? Some of us may miss the simpler times of selling shells and fruits for bells, travelling to the city and exploring some old friends’ towns in City Folk, also known as “Let’s Go To The City” on the Wii [25] [40], but after the Switch 2 showcase, there is hope for a new chapter of the franchise that ought to consist of the best ofNew Leaf and New Horizons [76] [77] [78] [79] [84] [85]. After witnessing the reveals of Snow White in the twelfth season of Disney Speedstorm and the premium plushie based on the outstanding incarnation of Beelzebub from Helluva Boss and having an amazing time I had at MegaCon in Birmingham this year as a female version of Mario [14] [16] [34] [36] [75], I am more than delighted to imagine how a Switch 2 edition of New Horizons, a brand new chapter for the successor to the Switch or both [49]. [53]

There is still quite a lot of time to hope for some new and familiar portrayals of special animals. Phineas might as well be a balloon vendor again, especially in an expansion of the Main Street in either the Northwest or Northeast part of the island, thus making bunny balloons buyable again [4] [22]. It seems unlikely that Redd will be in the slammer for selling forgeries [76] [77], so I guess his raffle from New Horizons can return as an alternative to the raffle from the first generation returning [41]. Personally, I think Harriet ought to offer seasonal hairstyles in the reopening of her salon in the last upgrade of Timmy and Tommy’s shop for old Wild Worldtime’s sake [44]. I also wonder if Wendell will return as the gluttonous travelling artist we have received designs from since the first generation of the franchise [40] [56]. Perhaps he could progress into an aspiring animator, basing his animations on Kirby from the Kirby games (which makes sense if you ask me [57]) or perhaps the art style of the Animal Crossing manga series [51] [67]. Lastly, Snowman, Snowmam and Snowtyke can return to be built during the Winter in the parts of the island the player chooses to be based on the Northern or Southern Hemisphere [55]. Both old and new roles of special characters can commence to get the best of both nostalgic and new experiences in the next game.

Harriet’s new salon in the last upgrade of the shop that is basically a rehash of T&T Emporium from New Leaf can be a rehash of Shampoodle in Wild World for plenty of 2000s kids and teens [40] [44] [54]. The return of perfect fruit would result in new recipes, such as tastier smoothies to craft, including an apple smoothie with a richer taste, a sweeter peach smoothie and blood-orange juice aside from differently designed fashion items [24], which would be convenient and consistent due to some variants of furniture items from the Fruit series [41]. Of course, there can be some fruit to grow, such as green apples to show no bias against them and strawberries inspired by the Fruit Party with Katie event in Pocket Camp that I recall attending back in Spring 2018 to give the next chapter some individuality [3] [15]. There can also be new types of trees, such as a weeping willow tree like the one that welcomed Wisp to the campsite in Pocket Camp [17] [43]. Lastly, perhaps there can be some new white and cream-coloured blossom trees in the Spring, especially in the return of the Cherry Blossom Festival from the first generation of the franchise [5] [86]. The grass was greener in New Leaf to some animal crossers [1] [15], so the return of some fruit and flora from the third generation of the franchise ought to flourish in the next chapter on the Switch 2.

There can also be plum blossom trees and peach blossom trees to show the differences between sakura, momo and ume [66] [86]. [5]


I also wonder if there can be new vegetables to grow, such as parsnips and cabbages. [53]
 
How else can a successor or Switch 2 edition to New Horizons provide the best of the third generation of the franchise? Gems and silver nuggets from New Leaf could also return in the next game for the Switch 2 [22]. As a result, there would be even more DIY recipes, such as a ruby net, a sapphire fishing rod, an emerald slingshot and an amethyst watering can. The same can apply to crafting a gem-coloured balloon if Phineas’ balloon cart from City Folkreturns [40]. Yes, these have already been brought into an “Update 3.0” mod for New Horizons [22], but such ideas becoming canon in the next chapter can assure its full legality. Why not let some bugs and fish that have only been caught during regular times outside of seasonal events in Pocket Camp, such as the Luna Moth and the Achilles Surgeonfish [23] [43]? And speaking of Pocket Camp, clothing, furniture and villagers can be categorised by the themes again [43]. Why not bring on a new batch of Pokémon references and some true intention of making a waterfall a secret entrance inspired by an eventually patched glitch that was considered a cool feature instead [31] [32]? As previously preached, the next Animal Crossing experience ought to be a hybrid of New Leaf and New Horizons with certain aspects of Pocket Camp and the first two generations to appeal to all animal crossers’ preferences [1].

Aside from plenty of Generation Three cred, I am still up for Gracie coming out as transgender, genderfluid or bigender while plenty of Sonic supporters support a fanmade Trans Fem version of Sonic the Hedgehog [27] [76] [77]. After all, there ought to be some great character development in the next game for the Switch 2 as Niko gains some after Lottie falls ill and becomes temporarily absent from work to receive medical attention at a certain point inHappy Home Paradise [42]. [6]
 
I know what some of my fellow Nintendo nerds are thinking. It is more likely that Nintendo will soon announce a Nintendo Switch 2 edition of New Horizons that may not only consist of Happy Home Paradise already installed but also notable new features [30] [42] [49]. After Lara Croft’s return to tomb raiding and fortniting [80] [81], we are enlightened by the Nintendo Switch 2’s increased potential with the reveals of new features, such as mouse controls within the joy-cons and a camera accessory and upcoming titles, including Drag x Drive, Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza [49]. I strongly believe that said potential can be enhanced even further by the confirmation and reveal of the next Animal Crossing game, a Switch 2 edition of New Horizons or both [30] [76] [77] [78] [79] [84] [85]. There may not be room for every suggestion due to possible limitations, but we can still hope for the next experience to be just as beneficial for mental health and some more features can be added to the game as part of updates or DLC. We can also dive into new experiences outside of the Switch 2, such as Rad Venture, Starlight Re:Volver and Billie Bust Up (but on a certain condition [68] [71] [73]) [10] [11] [12] [58] [59] [65]. During the wait for the successor to the Switch that is named like a sequel and will be out this June, please show love and support for those in need or simply want to feel like they do not need to be afraid anymore [9] [13] [29] [87]. Moreover, keep expressing your creativity [69] [70], whether you consider yourself a Minecrafter [63] [64], a hazbean [62], an animal crosser or an aspiring game designer.

Plenty of us are excited to give the forthcoming experiences, especially Mario Kart World and another port of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild a try and a successor to New Horizons, an upgraded Switch 2 edition of it consisting of Happy Home Paradise or a spin-off title centred on a rehash of Animal Island with certain aspects of New Leaf, New Horizons and Happy Home Designer ought to be another one of them [39] [41] [49] [83] [84]. [49]
